First of all, thank you for allowing me to post here. This is not a flame, not anything of the sort - the intent is to clear up some misunderstandings.
My post on the forums of BD concerned twinking and RP organizations - the catalyst for this was two incidents in recent weeks coupled with at least three such organizations on BD right now - The Thayans, The Mage Guild, and The Doomnairs. While I know that my posts mentioned dwarven war suits twice, they also mentioned Assassins and gear, paladins and gear...the reason for these three choices is simple: all three have had problems with twinking in the past.
I want to make clear I am not "seeking out" the Doomnairs nor any other group - in fact I thought I was clear in my posts that I am not even against well played and thought out master-apprentice relationships, families, guilds, or what have you. My call for for logic, that if something is offered that clearly a character could not get in a group of folks at their level, then it should not be offered/accepted. There IS a lot of grey area here, and the logic of when it is right and when it is not right means that we as players need to be extra careful not to justify such things when it really is not right.
Without a doubt, anyone playing in any of these groups would feel perhaps singled out - I have in fact heard from members of all three. However, the issue was raised in public by members of the Doomnairs, and that is why I am posting here and explaining myself.
I play the game and DM for fun, I know I have a reputation as a mean DM, a Rules Nazi, or any other hateful thing - but perhaps speaking to the person who was impacted in this would reveal more of how I act. I did not feel that any corrective action other than simple exchanging of armours was needed, there was not even a post made to other DMs. I will state that I will enforce rules about cheating, twinking, and muling to the utmost level, but I will not carry on vendettas or such - people who claim I have done so are often those whom have never interacted with me.
enough said on this topic - like the main forum, I consider it closed
Yeah i kinda agree. If a lvl <4 ran around in a colored plate i'd be suspicious too, and as other Doomnairs stated, BD got too few rulenazis if anything. I just thought it needed clarify that clan Doomnair have an explicit non-twinking policy, well expressed in writing long before this incident.
